"Jonas Pogacar"? Tour de France announcer makes hilarious mistake on podium celebrations

The Tour de France's podium celebrations are among the most popular and watched in the entire cycling world and with it comes a lot of pressure. Such pressure can lead to mistakes, as did the podium announcer at the end of stage 12 by calling for "Jonas Pogacar".

The entertaining moment came as Pogacar climbed onto the podium to receive the KOM jersey, a fruit of his attacking style on this year's mountain stages thus far. "The leader of the overall classification also takes the jersey of the best climber. Jonas Po... Tadej Pogacar!"

The words were met with a look of shock on Pogacar's face. However, both riders have stayed upright on the day, something they will be thankful of after their rival Primoz Roglic crashed in a high-speed incident with just 10 kilometers to go which led to his withdraw from the race. Today, the duo will once again have to be on their best legs as the peloton faces the threat of echelons, before reaching the Pyrenees where big differences can be made in the weekend.
