Jon Aberasturi returns to Euskaltel-Euskadi. The sprinter from Alava signs for two seasons, 2024 and 2025, with the Euskadi Foundation's UCI Pro Team, a return to his origins from the Lidl-Trek of the World Tour. Aberasturi grew up within the structure and now hopes to pay back some of their trust.
"This signing means going back to the beginning. The Euskadi Foundation supported me since I was a youth and little by little I was taking steps. I started riding with the Foundation at Naturgas, as an amateur, for two years; then I went to the subsidiary, Orbea, three years; and I ended up at Euskaltel-Euskadi, at the highest level, the dream since I was a child; and in 2014 it was the last year at the Foundation with Euskadi. And from there I had to go out to other teams. So it is a return to the home team that makes me very excited."

"In my first stint, I was young, I hadn't peaked, I couldn't give my all; and, now, I think that I arrive at another time, with my best legs and at the best level that I have been able to achieve so far, in full maturity and with that experience that I can contribute to the youngsters. I was lucky two years ago to find Lidl-Trek, a World Tour team. I've had other roles and now I'm going to have what I've had for most of my career, that freedom to get results."
Among his best results during last two seasons with Lidl-Trek are: 3rd place from stages of Volta a Catalunya and Vuelta a San Juan, or 9th place at 2022 European Championships in Hamburg.
