The 2024 National Cycling Championship in Ecuador witnessed an exciting duel between the country's best cyclists. The men's road race in Riobamba was highlighted by the victory of Jhonatan Narváez, who overcame Richard Carapaz and Jefferson Alveiro Cepeda in a spectacular final sprint.
Narváez, from INEOS Grenadiers, was proclaimed champion with a time of 3:50:42, followed by Carapaz (EF Education - EasyPost) just one second behind. The day was marked by the joint effort of Carapaz and his teammate Alexander Cepeda, despite a mechanical problem faced by the 'Locomotive' of Carchi.
