Jakob Soderqvist has taken victory in the stage 3 individual time trial at the 2025 Tour of Denmark, on a strong day for the Lidl-Trek team that also saw Mads Pedersen consolidate his overall race lead.
Of the early time trial starters, the fastest efforts came from the likes of Soren Waerenskjold, who clocked a time of 15:52 and Johan Price-Pejtersen, who moved into the hotseat with his time of 15:46. Julius Johansen threatened to break that time, but as he faded towards the end, the UAE rider (riding for the Danish national team) eventually crossed the line 20 seconds down on Price-Pejtersen. Moments later, Mattias Skjelmose too narrowly missed out, finishing 7 seconds down on the fastest time, meaning Price-Pejtersen's ride was looking better and better.
After waiting so long for a time faster the Dane's, two then came in quick succession. Firstly, Belgian TT specialist Alec Segaert clocked the fastest time at 15:33, but before the Lotto rider could even get into the hotseat, his time was then bettered again by Jakob Soderqvist's effort of 15:28.
Niklas Larsen put in a strong showing, clocking the provisional third fastest time when he stopped the clock with an effort of 15:42. The last man with a chance of beating Soderqvist was then his own teammate, Mads Pedersen. Less than a second slower at the intermediate time check, Pedersen entered the finale with a chance of winning, but ultimately, the Dane missed out, crossing the line 14 seconds down.
