"I've had some trouble with my crash here and there" - Primoz Roglic not at 100% as Vuelta a Espana arrives at mountains

Primoz Roglic was one of the victims of stage 2 at the Vuelta a Espana where he crashed and suffered minor injuries. He felt them yesterday on the summit finish to Arinsal and was unable to contest for the stage win.

“It will get better. I'm actually happy, because since yesterday I've had some trouble with my crash here and there," Roglic told Slovenian media in Arinsal. "But I persevered and we will continue to do so. Today it still went, we'll see how it will be in the coming days. I look at it day by day, it should be fine.”

Jumbo-Visma did not go to the front of the group and push the race to break it up despite having the numbers, UAE Team Emirates did most of the damage. Sepp Kuss launched a few moves whilst Jonas Vingegaard closely followed Remco Evenepoel, whilst Roglic and Wilco Kelderman were also in the group but not as active.

In the final meters it was expected that Roglic would sprint for the win taking into account his history and current form, but he couldn't go above a fourth place, outside of the bonifications. The Slovenian was recovering from the small crash and hopes to improve on the coming days. Into stage 4, he sits 10th in the overall classification, 37 seconds down on Evenepoel.
