“I've admired Soudal Quick-Step since I was young”: German talent joins the Wolfpack on two-year deal from 2027

Soudal - QuickStep have completed their first signing for the 2027 season, securing versatile German rider Tim Torn Teutenberg on a two-year contract. The 24-year-old will leave Lidl-Trek at the end of 2026, bringing his sprinting speed and classics potential to the Belgian squad.
A new chapter after Lidl-Trek
Teutenberg has spent the past two seasons with Lidl-Trek's WorldTour team after graduating from the outfit's development programme. The German made a name for himself in 2024 by winning both Paris-Roubaix Espoirs and the Olympia's Tour, earning a promotion to the professional ranks.
Although he is still chasing his first WorldTour victory, the German rider has impressed as both a sprinter and lead-out specialist, while also showing promise in time trials and one-day races. His contract with Soudal-QuickStep runs until the end of 2028.
Teutenberg admitted joining the Belgian team is a move he has dreamed about since he was a young fan. “I'm delighted to join this team. I've admired Soudal Quick-Step since I was young and was a big fan of Mark Cavendish when he raced for The Wolfpack,” Teutenberg said in a statement shared by his new squad.

He believes the team's rich history in the Classics makes it the ideal environment for his development. “It's a squad with an extraordinary legacy in the Classics, which are the races where I hope to keep improving.”
At the same time, he intends to continue developing his sprinting. “I also want to develop as a sprinter, so next season will be about finding the right balance between the two.”
After winning the under-23 edition of Paris-Roubaix, Teutenberg is eager to finally make his debut in the elite race. “I've never raced Paris-Roubaix since turning professional, but I hope that by joining this team I'll get the opportunity to do so and support the squad as best I can in the fight for a great result on the French cobbles.”

Quick-Step sees enormous potential
Team CEO Jürgen Foré believes Teutenberg's versatility makes him an ideal addition to the squad. “Tim has already shown that he is a very versatile rider. He has the speed to compete in bunch sprints, he can perform well in the Classics, and he has also demonstrated his qualities in time trials and on the track.”
Foré also praised the German's ambition and willingness to improve. “That versatility, combined with his ambition to improve and his strong work ethic, makes him an exciting rider for the future.”
Confident the 24-year-old fits the team's philosophy, he concluded: “He is still young, eager to learn and ready to take the next step in his career. We are looking forward to working with him over the coming seasons and helping him continue his development. We are confident that, together, we can achieve some great things.”

Teutenberg comes from one of Germany's best-known cycling families. His grandfather, Horst Teutenberg, played a major role in developing cycling in North Rhine-Westphalia, while his father, Lars Teutenberg, enjoyed a successful professional career that included victories at the Tour de Wallonie and Thüringen Rundfahrt.
His uncle, Sven Teutenberg, also raced professionally before helping organise the 2017 Tour de France Grand Départ in Düsseldorf.
Meanwhile, his aunt, Ina-Yoko Teutenberg, is regarded as one of Germany's greatest female cyclists, and his older sister, Lea Lin Teutenberg, currently races professionally for Lotto Intermarché.
