Alex Molenaar has secured the eighth and final stage of Tour de Langkawi. He was part of the breakaway and beat Jason Osborne in the final sprint to secure the stage victory.
The race saw an aggressive start, Hugo Toumire, Thomas De Gendt, Jason Osborne and Anatoliy Budyak were able to break free from the peloton. Alex Molenaar and Cameron Scott soon joined them. The group took a lead of 2 minutes and 10 seconds.

The breakaway split into two groups when Osborne, Toumire and Molenaar decided to increase their pace. Reinardt Janse van Rensburg overtook Toumire and started trailing the leading duo.
Alex Molenaar beat Jason Osborne in the final sprint and secured the stage. Osborne enjoyed a silver after a long day in the breakaway. Erlend Blikra finished third. Ivan Sosa is the overall winner of the tour.
