Jonas Gregaard has spent years competing at the highest level of professional cycling, but one thing continues to elude him: a victory.

In an interview with B.T., Gregaard shared his thoughts on his preparation for the new season.

"I feel really sharp, and I have generally worked a lot on being sharper from the beginning of the season this year," he said. Despite this focus, he emphasized that weight loss hasn’t been a particular goal.

"It's not something I've thought about that much. In fact, I usually don't play sports at all for a month when it's offseason. I just need to relax my mind, be with my friends and family, and maybe take a trip or two to the city to get some exercise.”

Unlike many of his fellow cyclists, Gregaard opted to avoid altitude training camps this winter. These camps are commonly used to boost oxygen absorption in the blood, but he has found them to be more harmful than beneficial.

"It makes me more unstable. My body is exposed to stress and illness," he explained.

Instead, his approach is centered on staying consistent and seizing opportunities when they arise.

"It's about staying home in a breakout and finishing it off. I've been close a couple of times, and I really just feel like I'm getting stronger and stronger, so I hope that the margins will be on my side at some point."
