The Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team was founded this winter and with high ambitions straight away as they got a Pro Team license, and today at the Clásica de Almeria they've achieved their first victory as Matteo Moschetti outsprinted serious competition.
“It’s a really special victory for all of us! We’re a new team and this was one of our first races so to already have a nice win like that is important for not just me, but all the riders, all the staff and, of course, all the sponsors," Moschetti said in a pre-race interview. "It was a really nice day for us but it was not easy. It was quite windy but we managed well to always be in a good position in the most dangerous sectors."
The race had an inevitable bunch sprint decide the outcome, and the former Trek - Segafredo has enjoyed his new leadership in the best way, directly beating the likes of Arnaud De Lie, Jordi Meeus and Alexander Kristoff. It was a strong performance which brought the team for the first time to the spotlight, with great success.
“The guys did an amazing job, it’s one of the first races that were racing together so it’s not easy to find each other in such a technical final. In the final I was a bit far back so I tried to launch my sprint early. I had good legs and felt it was a good moment to launch. And luckily, I was right and we got the victory!" he concluded.
