Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl has revealed its team for the Tour of Leuven. World champion Julian Alaphilippe will be leading the team.
Alaphilippe has been the victim of bad luck this season, with a crash in the early season followed by Covid-19 has forced him off the track for a long period of time. This can change with the Tour of Leuven as the .“It’s going to be bizarre to race there on Sunday, especially with such different sensations to last year at the Worlds. It will be a hard race, but I’m looking forward to seeing how I feel,” said Alaphilippe.
Although sports directory Rik Van Slycke is still worried since he just recovered from Covid, he does not want him to push the limits. “We have a couple of guys who came out from illness, so it remains to be seen what we can do on Sunday. As always, the motivation is there, and we hope for a good outing on this hard course that will include some climbs from last year’s Worlds.”, said Van Slycke.
