"It was a dream start to the year for me" - Sam Welsford wins the points classification of the Tour Down Under 2024

Sam Welsford is the winner of the points classification (sprint) at the Tour Down Under 2024. The Australian from Team BORA - hansgrohe collected a total of 90 points over the six days, putting him well ahead of second-placed Biniam Girmay from Intermarche - Wanty with 77 points and third-placed Jhonatan Narváez from INEOS Grenadiers with 70 points.
Among other things, the team posted an interview with Welsford on its X (Twitter) account immediately after the race. "It was a totally crazy week. It was a dream start to the year for me to come home Down Under and win three stages with the team. More and more we are working in a good way for the new season. I'm really looking forward to building up the form for the upcoming races."
When asked what his biggest goal for the coming season was, Welsford responded promptly. "A place in the Giro d'Italia would be one of my big goals that I want to achieve. I think there are sprint days that will suit me. (...) I hope I can maintain my form for the rest of the season."

- yes, Jonas said that he had lost a little muscle mass. In the other hand, also Tadej changed his physique: thin, more lighter than ever, legs and glutes well defined (finally, no more junior legs). Both were more lighter than ever but Pogi could put more muscle in legs and glutes.
