With the start of the 2025
Vuelta a Espana less than a week away, anticipation and excitement are building for the final Grand Tour of the season. For
Intermarché - Wanty, a team still searching for its first Grand Tour stage win in 2025, the Vuelta marks a final chance to gain some memorable success from the campaign's biggest stage races.
In that quest for success, Intermarché - Wanty have put forward
a mixed squad, combining both youth and experience, and a blend of climbing capabilities and those who have hope on the flat. The most experienced and most proven of the team comes in the form of
Louis Meintjes. The 33-year-old South African won a stage of La Vuelta back in 2022 and has five Grand Tour top-10 finishes on his palmares. Earlier this year, he brought home one of Intermarché's most fruitful results points wise with an 18th overall at the Giro d'Italia.
For the sprints, the team turns towards
Arne Marit. In the third Grand Tour of his career, Marit has come close in the past to a stage win, but his result at both the Giro in 2023 and the Vuelta in 2024 is 4th place. He will no doubt be looking to improve upon that this coming edition.
