INEOS Grenadiers interested in signing Remco Evenepoel

Remco Evenepoel is just off the back of an incredible season with his results above even the highest expectations, but before he's able to enjoy the off-season, rumours already emerge over his contract.

Reported by Velonews, INEOS owner Jim Ratcliffe texted Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team's manager Patrick Lefevere "do you want to sell him?" following his recent successes. The report hints that it may not have been a serious proposal, but instead light-hearted talk, however with the Belgian's evolution, popularity and promise for years to come, there may be more to the story.

Although having seen it's dominance overshadowed in the last few years, the British team feature a budget of around €50 million euros, almost the double of that of Jumbo-Visma and UAE Team Emirates who follow closely after.

With the team being funded by a multi-billionaire, there is no knowing how far the team is willing to go to try and break Evenepoel's contract. The 22-year old is currently signed with Quick-Step until 2026 in what is one of the longest-binding contracts in the peloton.
