"I'm going well, we are in a good position" - Primoz Roglic delighted to take first win of 2025 on stage 4 of Volta a Catalunya

For the first time in 2025, Primoz Roglic was able to cross the finish line a winner on stage 4 of the 2025 Volta a Catalunya. Having been narrowly defeated in a summit sprint by Juan Ayuso a day earlier, Roglic made sure the same wouldn't happen again, powering to the win ahead of the Spaniard in a thrilling finale.
"It was annoying, a fast tempo from the start, wind... I had something left at the end, so luckily I won," reflected the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe leader in his typically dry fashion in a post-stage interview following the win.
Although both Roglic and Ayuso share the same time in the general classification, it is the experience Slovenian who now takes the overall race lead via countback. Given there is almost literally nothing to separate the pair however, Roglic is well aware that the battle is not yet over. "Definitely not! There are hard days still to come. Anyway for the moment, I'm going well, we are in a good position, and we will see. We go day by day and we will see by the end," concludes the 35-year-old. "Obviously, for the moment, the difference is really small. You never know. Maybe he goes away with minutes, maybe I go away with minutes. We will see how it goes."

- Agreed, but if it was a radio thing then all the riders should have the same story and it would be easy to call anyone out. - maybe. what makes that a LITTLE fishy is that they suddenly hit the gas and started hammering it. even mathieu, who i’ve never heard complain about ANYTHING (other than teenage girls waking him up and being spit on by belgians) was pretty hacked off about the race tactics after the split. i think he was upset for what his teammates had to do, not for the fact he ended up isolated as a result.OCexile31-03-2025
