Jonas Vingegaard, the Dane has a chance to send a message to this potential Maillot Jaune rivals ahead of this summer's Grand Tour dual.
Returning to competitive action for the first time since crashing out of Paris-Nice with concussion nearly three months ago, Vingegaard insists he won't be taking things easy either, with the Dane ready to go all-in in search of form and momentum ahead of the 2025 Tour de France, testing himself against the likes of
Tadej Pogacar and
Remco Evenepoel.
“I’m definitely planning to go all-in. Honestly, it would be strange to hold anything back. So yes, I think it’s going to be proper racing – flat out from everyone,” explained the 28-year-old in a pre-stage 1 interview with TV2 at the Criterium du Dauphine.
Vingegaard is also well aware that if things go his way this week, it could mean more than just another stage race added to his palmares. “Absolutely. If you can win here, it gives you a huge amount of motivation going into the Tour de France,” he concluded.
