"I was the strongest in the group and I went for the victory from far away" - Remco Evenepoel takes unassailable KOTM lead after third Vuelta stage win

Remco Evenepoel has won his third stage at the Vuelta a España 2023. He got into the breakaway of the day that soon caught 10 minutes with the peloton and went forward on the first of the climbs to the Cruz de Linares.
In addition to the stage victory, the Belgian from Soudal Quick-Step has consolidated his lead in the King of the Mountains classification. Despite his failure in the overall, Remco believes he is having a great Vuelta a España:
"The message was for my wife, if I took a third stage I was going to dedicate it to her. I thought I was the strongest in the group and I wanted to go from far away for the victory, I felt very good legs, almost like in stage 15 and it was a great opportunity to win and to consolidate the mountain jersey, nice way to finish. Yes, to get that situation is a good result, the plan for the overall didn't work, but I had a good feeling and good legs and I kept fighting to be protagonist of the race."

- I think you overestimate scientific knowledge and for sure the spreading of it. There are huge numbers of people in similar situations, if there were an easy solution somebody would be making big money out of it. Nerve pain can have many complex origins or be due to complex combinations of reasons. Even if you discover a reason there is not always a solution. Migraines haven’t been solved either. I have had lower back/hip nerve pains on and off for over 30 years, no kind of doctor has ever found a way to reduce, prevent or solve the problem. It may just be that some people are born with nerves that are too short or get twisted out of position during certain movements.Mistermaumau22-12-2024
