Felix Gall put in a very impressive performance on stage 3 of the Tour de Suisse, putting time into all his GC rivals apart from stage winner, Mattias Skjelmose.
"Today's stage may have suited me best. I like this profile, with a not too long climb in the final," the AG2R Citroen leader revealed post-stage in an interview with Eurosport. "I've trained very well in recent weeks, so we'll see how good I am on the longer climbs. In any case, I am very satisfied with my current form."
After being one of only two riders able to follow Remco Evenepoel when the former Vuelta a Espana winner made an early attack, Gall and Skjelmose then dropped their more illustrious companion and battled it out for the stage win between them.
Although Skjelmose would beat Gall in that final race for the line, Gall has plenty of positives to build upon in the coming stages. "The time trial was not so good, but there are still tough stages to come, where I hope to regain time," he concludes.
