A world champion back in 2014, Michal Kwiatkowski has developed into one of the INEOS Grenadiers' most reliable teammates, always willing to bury himself in the aide of his leaders. Over the coming two weeks of the Tour de France however, 'Kwiato' is looking for his own opportunities.
"I work hard to try and be here in great shape," the Polish rider tells ITV prior to the start of stage 10. "The second and third week can twist things around obviously. So far I've done the right things, avoided crashes, helped as much as I can and been on the front of the team no matter if it's on the climbs or on the flat. I always sacrifice myself to do the best for the team."
Because of his immense ability to be selfless, it is sometimes forgotten just how much of an elite rider in his own right Kwiatkowski is. As mentioned a world champion in 2014, he also has achieved victories at races such as the Amstel Gold Race (2015, 2022), Milano-Sanremo (2017) and Strade Bianche (2014, 2017). So can he achieve a Tour de France stage win in the coming days?

"Hopefully there will be more opportunities either to help the team or for myself to win a stage," he says. "The entire second week, every day is pretty much an opportunity for the stage win from the break."
