Hungry for racing, Andreas Kron returns to action in Catalunya: "I enjoyed seeing the team taking good results, I want to be part of that"

While his Lotto Dstny teammates have been flying since the start of this season, Andreas Kron was sidelined with a concussion until now. However the 25-year-old is already in racing shape as he prepares to take off at Volta a Catalunya on Monday alongside Maxim Van Gils.

"After the training accident which caused a concussion, I slowly restarted training at home. I did some endurance trainings and slowly started building up again the intensity. Afterwards I went on altitude camp with the team in Andorra, where I spent the past two and a half weeks. I did some race related efforts and the past week I felt better and better."

"I'm just really looking forward now to racing. The preparation on altitude went well, it's always better to have a race in the legs but that wasn't possible, so I just hope to come better out of Catalunya towards the Ardennes classics. Maybe it can even be an advantage for the Ardennes I didn't race that much yet, but we will see."

"I'm always motivated to go for a nice result. But most of all, I'm super happy to find the team again, the riders and staff and especially a team that is going strong. It also gives me trust and motivation. I enjoyed seeing the team taking good results, it pushes me to wanting to be part of that. Maxim will also be in Catalunya, we are a bit the same type of rider. Hopefully as a team we can go for a stage win there, with him or with someone else."
