Giro d'Italia: Matteo Sobrero wins final time-trial as Jai Hindley saves debut Giro win

Team BikeExchange - Jayco have won both time-trials at the Giro d'Italia, as Matteo Sobrero stormed to the win in Verona for an emotional win with the national champion colours.

The hilly time-trial gave a lot of space for surprises. With it's hilly and technical course, feeling on the day was crucial for this final day. The likes of Michael Hepburn and Magnus Cort Nielsen set strong early times, but still early on Italian national champion Matteo Sobrero stormed through the 17.4-kilometer course to take the race lead comfortably.

No-one else could come close to the Italian, with Thymen Arensman and Mathieu van der Poel the riders nearest, but with a sizeable gap back to the Italian. The GC fight was the next one on the road, but the TT didn't deliver decisive differences as the Top10 remained the same as Jai Hindley was crowned the winner of the 2022 Giro d'Italia in Verona.
