🇪🇸 #Itzulia Sports Director Patxi Vila on @rogla, who thankfully came out of yesterday’s crash without any fractures.
After surviving a stage 3 crash with his overall race lead at the Itzulia Basque Country intact, Primoz Roglic hit the deck again on stage 4, in a mass crash that ended his race and left rivals such as Jonas Vingegaard and Remco Evenepoel in hospital.
Thankfully, for Roglic, it was in the back of his team car that the BORA - hansgrohe leader left the race rather than in the back of ambulance as many caught up in the crash had to do. On Wednesday night, BORA revealed in an update that the Slovenian had thankfully managed to escape without any fractures and now, sports director, Patxi Villa has elaborated further.
"Fortunately all the medical checks of Primoz did not show any big issues," the Spaniard explains. "So he's fine and he's feeling okay. Of course, a lot of small scratches but they will heal, hopefully soon."
"He will fly back home this afternoon and I think we have to be more than happy," Villa concludes. "The rest of the team is feeling great and we still have three good options here for the GC and six really good riders so we'll just go for it the last two stages and fight it out."
