Former Liege-Bastogne-Liege winner on the radar of INEOS Grenadiers for 2025

INEOS Grenadiers continue to scoop around on the transfer market, looking for possible reinforcement for their once-famous mountain train. However with a clear challenger for Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard nowhere in the sight, there's only so much that can be done.

In the latest news reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, it appears that the team is on the verge of agreeing on a deal with Bob Jungels. After racing for three years at Trek Factory Racing (currently Lidl-Trek), spending five seasons at Quick-Step and two years at both; AG2R and BORA, Jungels should race for the British for unspecified period of time.

Once a Grand tour top-10 contender, the 31-year-old Luxembourger went through a series of injuries and illness couple years ago and never really returned to his pre-covid level. He spent last two seasons with BORA - hansgrohe (now rebranded to Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe), with whom he's due to complete the upcoming Tour de France.

Among the biggest successes of the fourteen-time National champion (6x road and 8x ITT) are victory at Liege-Bastogne-Liege (2018) and stages at Tour de France (2022) and Giro d'Italia (2017). His best GC campaign was in 2016 when then 23-year-old Jungels climbed to 6th overall at Giro d'Italia, winning the white jersey for best young rider in the process. The Luxembourger also briefly featured in a pink jersey that year.
