Now a month in, the 2024 season begins to gain meaningful depth. UAE Team Emirates has already scored over 1600 points so far this season and is in the lead of the UCI ranks, whilst Tudor Pro Cycling Team has had a fantastic start to the year and is fighting for the wildcards in the 2025 season.
The Emirati team has this as a big goal for the season and began to make the difference early. Team Visma | Lease a Bike, expected to be the main rival team for the season, has only 758 points to date.
In the bottom we have, surprisingly, Alpecin-Deceuninc. The Belgian team has only scored 258 points so far this season and is well below the rest of it's competition. It is in fact only the 27th best scoring team, and has less than half the points of Astana Qazaqstan Team - the penultimate team, scoring wise. Mathieu van der Poel, Jasper Philipsen and Kaden Groves are all yet to start their season.
The fight for the maintenance at the end of the 2025 season continues and every point means something. At the time being, Arkéa - B&B Hotels and Astana Qazaqstan Team remain around 2000 points below the red line. Decathlon AG2R La Moniale Team and Team DSM-Firmenich PostNL are the two teams just above the line, in their own internal competition. Both Lotto Dstny and Israel - Premier Tech are above the line and in position to regain their World Tour status.
The two teams also score the most points out of all ProTeam outfits so far this season and are in position to get automatic wildcards for all World Tour events next season. Tudor Pro Cycling Team closely follows the Belgian team however. The three are, for the time being, above the rest of the competition head and shoulders.
