It promises to be a great battle in the Basque Country this week. It starts on Monday with a short prologue and then each stage sees a potential GC-shaking profile. The climax takes place on Saturday with a short, explosive Queen stage into the Santuario de Arrate.
A year ago Primož Roglič and Jonas Vingegaard did a 1-2 for Jumbo-Visma. To repeat that performance, they will have to be in top form. The field is strong and includes Sergio Higuita, Remco Evenepoel, Daniel Martínez and Adam Yates as important competitors.

The Fantasy Itzulia Basque Country starts on Monday 4 April 2022 at 14:31 hours CET.
You have a budget of 160 million euro to buy 15 riders for the starting line up and 25 million euro budget to pick 3 substitutes. You can win points for every stage and for the General Classification.
The game will cost €7 per team and will start with a guaranteed amount of €2,000 in prizes. The first prize will be €500 (41 GC prizes).

- Didn't like to see Kopecky and Wiebes attacking after a big crash in the leading group. Poetic justice in the end. Ferrand-Prevot hit the deck in that same crash. And in Catalunya UAE also increased the pace at the front of the bunch when some of the favourites went down. No bad karma in this case though.heinz12-04-2025
