Equipo Kern Pharma brings on Mikel Nieve to drive progress - "Will take care of the guys and try to guide them as much as possible"

In a move geared towards elevating the performance of their riders, Equipo Kern Pharma has enlisted Mikel Nieve as part of its technical staff with the responsibility of driving improvement.

"It is a very interesting role. As an athlete, it is important to improve yourself every day, to give the best of yourself,” Nieve said. He continues, “I notice within this team that the will is there to get even better. My goal is to get the most out of it. I will serve as a kind of link between the team management and the riders. I will take care of the guys and try to guide them as much as possible."

As one of the key members involved in bringing Nieve to the team, Team manager Juanjo Oroz has high hopes for his abilities. "Mikel has experience at the very highest level and knows what it takes to race at that level. He will start helping us towards the future, to become even better. We need Mikel to take the next step. He will take care of the athletes and guide them intensively."

Throughout his career, Nieve's remarkable accomplishments in the world of cycling include winning three stages in the Giro d'Italia and being crowned the mountain king in the Italian tour. He also emerged victorious in a stage of the Vuelta a España in 2010. In addition, Nieve boasts an impressive record of competing in 22 grand tours and has managed to clinch a top-ten finish on six occasions.
