Vincenzo Albanese has developed into one of the strongest cyclists on the PRT level over last few years. Sprinting? Climbing? The 26-year old Italian do it both and he does so exceptionally well. In fact so well, that even World Tour level teams had to recognize his talent.
The EOLO-Kometa's leader has had excellent season already in 2022, finishing in the top 10 of stages, one-day races, and even general classifications for 32 (!) times total. In just 72 race days. This includes 3rd place in a Giro stage, or 11th spot at Milano-Sanremo among many other impressive results.
But what really caught eye of biggest teams might've been on-going Giro d'Italia, where Albanese entered the top 10 on a stage 5 times already!
According to La Gazzetta, Alberto Contador would love to keep the skilled Italian within his structure, but EF Education-EasyPost seems to be a strong option too as the American team will be looking to strengthen their classics roster around Neilson Powless and Ben Healy.
