Decathlon CMA CGM runs off to Switzerland to be able to afford the new contract of Paul Seixas

Decathlon CMA CGM is desperately looking into any possibility that would allow them to gain a head start on their rivals in pursuit of contract extension with Paul Seixas. The Frenchman's current commitment ends in 2027, and about every rival team would like to secure the 19-year-old's future to be in their colours.
What can Decathlon bring to the table that other teams don't have? Strong French ties, long-term commitment to the development of talents - not just Seixas who has been with the team since junior categories, strong support in the mountains.
And above all generous paycheck - but many other teams have plenty money as well. UAE Team Emirates - XRG, or Pinarello Q36.5 seem to have virtually infinite resources available to throw at Seixas, making the position of Decathlon rather delicate.
Off to Swiss, in order to keep the French
Aiming to reach a level playing field, the team has registered a new paternal company in Switzerland, aiming to reduce expenses related to the higher level of social security contributions that are associated with French contracts. Something that weighs on heavily on all French teams.
Cyclingnews reports that a new entity has been listed at the Register of Commerce in Geneva, named 'DECATHLON CYCLING TEAM SUISSE SA'. Registered on August 17, it carries the names of the team’s two senior management figures, Dominique Serieys and Mathieu Charpentier, and concerns ‘the management and activity of a professional cycling team’.
The outlet further refers to the team's spokesperson to have confirmed the news that the French team's paying agent will newly indeed reside in Switzerland, in turn enabling Decathlon to spend more money on rider salaries, and less on taxes.

This move could see the French team save more than €5 million a season, an amount that can be used to sign a star rider, or maintain all key riders. In the case of Decathlon, the second seems to be most likely use of these funds.
