Covid-19 has this morning taken out DSM duo Nikias Arndt and Mark Donovan out of the Vuelta a Espana, but a third rider has been forced to abandon due to the same reason: Arkéa Samsic's Anthony Delaplace.
Without the presence of Nairo Quintana in the race, the Frenchman's role was set to be to hunt stage wins, or strong results throughout the race. Yesterday he also assisted Dan McLay in the long chase that the peloton almost succeeded in towards Cistierna. Arkéa is now down to six riders into the eighth stage of the race.
