CONFIRMED: Demi Vollering leaving Team SD Worx-Protime at the end of the season: "It’s about budget"

Although her future has been heavily rumoured of late with talk of record-breaking offers from across the peloton, it has now been confirmed that Demi Vollering will leave Team SD Worx - Protime at the end of the season.
"Everyone knows that Lotte Kopecky has signed until 2028 and we’ve tried hard to keep the team but for Demi, I don’t think that it’s an option for us," Team SD Worx - Protime's sports director, Danny Stam has told GCN prior to the start of Dwars Door Vlaanderen WE 2024 on Wednesday afternoon.
Vollering brought Team SD Worx - Protime their crowning glory in 2023, winning the Maillot Jaune at the Tour de France Femmes and seems set to take over where the great Annemiek Van Vleuten left off as the new face of women's Grand Tour cycling. That future won't be in the colours of SD Worx however.
"It’s about budget that's definitely sure," Stam elaborates, explaining how the team were forced to choose between Vollering and Kopecky. "You need to make a choice, and at one moment things can go away but I think it’s clear that we can’t have two riders from that level in our team."

I can understand that they would want to check for motors, but surely it makes no sense to have a rider sit on a bike that complies to a set dimension rather than have the bike set up to suit each the riders unique biomechanical needs. - I suspect they have clock syncing problems, two of the IDs have a post at an identical 24:52 (this time format already indicates one problem) on May 4th this year even though those posts don’t show in the chronology of Latest Posts, which indicates they also have time stamp and chronology problems too. - Nobody has unlimited money. At the best the team would be throwing a million to universities for studies. they dont have the werewithal to fund a Doping research lab exclusively for them. Also in UAE the only outlier is Pogi. The others are getting beaten pretty normally, they dont last until the end of the race either when helping out. - Not remotely in the realm of possibility. Pharmaceutical companies spend billions (with a B) developing proprietary new drugs. There is absolutely no chance that a shadow company is exclusively developing a product for a few guys on one team in a minor sport that almost no one cares about. It sounds like you watch too many James Bond movies. Which might be better for you (and us) than speculating on something like this. UAE is doing what everyone else is doing, just a bit better.
