Cofidis renews with it's most popular rider - "It's the right option especially since I feel very good in this team"

Simon Geschke has extended his contract with Cofidis for two more seasons . The German rider has been part of the team since last year and now he will ride for the team untill 2024.

Geschke is pleased with the extension of his contract. “Extending was an option that we had already discussed last year with Cédric. The fact of having had a good season contributed to making this choice. For me, it's the right option in more ways than one, especially since I feel very good in this team.” said Geschke.

He continues, “I really like my role in the team. As in previous years, I want to ensure my role as a teammate, to continue to support the leaders and as soon as I feel that I am in good shape or that circumstances require it, I could also try my luck.”

It's not just Geschke who's happy with this deal. Team manager Cedric Vasseur also expressed satisfaction at the extension of the German's contract for two more years. "Simon provides a good balance. It's great that we can count on a rider as talented as Simon for even longer. He also has an extraordinary amount of experience. He is able to achieve good results himself, but is also a highly valued helper. He creates a good balance within the team. We have found an excellent road captain with Simon,” concluded Vasseur.
