Chaos at the end of the Tour Colombia 2024: Police caught filming the race instead of controlling the crowd that was hindering the cyclists

In a final stage of the Tour Colombia 2024 that was absolutely thrilling, with Rodrigo Contreras becoming the first non-WorldTour rider to win the general classification, and also withstanding the brutal attacks of Richard Carapaz, there was no shortage of controversy.

In the final kms of the stage, many fans who had come to see their idols live began to obstruct the riders, many of them with the aim of encouraging them as much as possible and others taking advantage of the opportunity to take photos.

Once again, the Tour Colombia organization and the local police force were in evidence, showing their fatal disorganization and control over the race.

In fact, at one point, the broadcast of the last stage caught live a member of the police recording the race instead of doing his job, that of maintaining order and control of the event. In an image shared on X - formerly Twitter, by user @directorplay, the embarrassing moment can be clearly observed.
