For those who follow the women's cycling the name Fariba Hashimi won't be unfamiliar. The younger of two sisters from Afghanistan has shown some serious potential this year and her step up to World Tour with Ceratizit-WNT Pro Cycling is very well deserved.

The 21-year-old Fariba Hashim took off to a breakthrough 2024 season with two top-5 stage finishes at the Giro Mediterraneo in Rosa (2.2) in April. She then went off the radar for a moment to return even stronger in August with 8th overall at the Tour de l'Avenir (2.2U), followed by her big stage triumph in the mountains of the Tour Feminin l'Ardeche (2.1).

For next season, she'll get the golden opportunity to show her worth racing with the very internationally-oriented Ceratizit-WNT. Hashimi's best quality lies with the mountains and so we can only look forward to what she can do when the roads go up.
