Happy with the way we’ve finished this @dauphine . It hasn’t been an easy week for the team or me, but luckily we managed to win team GC and I got the white jersey. Looking forward to what’s coming next 👊
Viewed as one of INEOS Grenadiers' big general classification hopes for the future, Carlos Rodriguez continued to show off his immense potential by claiming the Best Young Rider's jersey at the 2023 Critérium du Dauphiné.
"Happy with the way we’ve finished this Critérium du Dauphiné," said the 22-year-old Spaniard in a post-race update to his official Twitter account. "It hasn’t been an easy week for the team or me, but luckily we managed to win team GC and I got the white jersey."
On the final stage of the race, Rodriguez came home in 10th place, just over a minute down on the eventual stage winner, Giulio Ciccone at 1:03. In terms of the GC battle however it was another positive performance for the Spaniard who moved up to 9th overall and claimed the Best Young Rider's jersey by 1:34 from Team DSM's Max Poole.
"Looking forward to what’s coming next," concludes Rodriguez's Twitter post.
