Caja Rural rider Sergio Martín hospitalized after serious traffic accident

Caja Rural - Seguros RGA rider Sergio Martín has been hospitalized after suffering a serious accident this morning while training near his home in Galapagar, Madrid.
The young cyclist was immediately transferred to the Hospital 12 de Octubre where, according to the team, he is "conscious and stable". In the next few hours he will undergo surgery after suffering a fracture of five ribs and two vertebrae. He will continue pending evolution and medical tests. His team wanted to send him a message of support.
"From Caja Rural-Seguros RGA we wish a speedy recovery to the brave rider from Madrid, formed in the quarry of our formation and who is celebrating his fourth season in the professional team," the statement read.
