Bored Tadej Pogacar decides to light up stage 2 of Volta a Catalunya with long-range attack

Tadej Pogacar has injected some excitement into the opening of stage 2 at the 2024 Volta a Catalunya by doing some typically Tadej Pogacar things, attempting to bridge a 6 minute gap between peloton and breakaway.

With six attackers forming the breakaway, things quickly settled down in the peloton. Pogacar though, was clearly bored and as a result decided to throw the race into chaos, attacking from the peloton. Alongside UAE Team Emirates teammate, Domen Novak, the duo stayed out for around 15 minutes before eventually regrouping with the peloton.

With the stage finishing atop the formidable summit of Vallter 2000, was this wasted energy from the Slovenian? Only time will tell.
