“Before the season I had my eye on Paris-Roubaix" - Lotte Kopecky looks to claim historic double following Tour of Flanders victory

After her stunning win at the Tour of Flanders last weekend it is no surprise that Lotte Kopecky is full of confidence heading into Paris-Roubaix Femmes 2023 as the SD Worx rider looks to complete a historic double.

“Before the season I had my eye on Paris-Roubaix. My spring can no longer go badly, but that doesn't make me any less motivated to triumph in the Vélodrome," Kopecky revealed earlier this week. "I'm much less nervous than in previous years. I've been relaxed all season, I feel less pressure on my shoulders. We train so hard that we push each other to a higher level. Plus, we know we have more arrows at our disposal on a worry-free run. We know there are other athletes ready."

Team SD Worx enter Paris-Roubaix Femmes as the standout team in the women's peloton with Kopecky their brightest star. Despite the continued dominance for both team and rider, complacency won't be an issue according to Kopecky.

“Many teams are still looking for the right tactic. We have already seen two solo victories after a long breakaway. This year, a group could even make it all the way to the finish line," she explains. "I hope to be able to do the Tour of Flanders – Paris-Roubaix double, but it won't be easy . Bad luck plays a role in Paris-Roubaix. And I expect strong opposition from Trek-Segafredo. If I don't win I will definitely be disappointed . Unless someone else from Team SD Worx can take the boulder home.”
