In the most one-sided of our fan-voted CyclingUpToDate
End of Year Awards to date,
Jumbo-Visma have been crowned Team of the Year in a landslide.
Over two-thirds of all voters on our poll opted to give the all-conquering yellow and black team the victory. The battle between second and third was much closer as
Team SD Worx edged out
UAE Team Emirates for the second spot on the podium by just 1.42 percent, as just two votes separated the two teams!
With almost all of the voters opting for one of the three teams, just five votes were split between the remaining five teams, Soudal - Quick-Step, Alpecin-Deceuninck, INEOS Grenadiers, Bahrain - Victorious and Lidl-Trek.
In truth, Jumbo-Visma's victory is somewhat unsurprising given the fact that Primoz Roglic, Jonas Vingegaard and Sepp Kuss completed a historic Grand Tour hattrick and away from Grand Tour racing the success continued. A suffocating display at the Tour of Britain, victories at Tirreno-Adriatico, Gent Wevelgem, Dwars door Vlaanderen, Itzulia Basque Country, the Critérium du Dauphiné… The list goes on and on and on.
