Russian rider
Gleb Syritsa will make his professional debut with the
Astana Qazaqstan team. He will ride for the Kazakh WorldTour team until 2024. He was already working as a trainee since August and even rode a few races in jersey.
After the ban on Gazprom–RusVelo, he was in a pinch, but thankfully he found a spot in Astana Qazaqstan as a trainee and now he is being upgraded to full-time professional rider. "I did everything I could to show myself as well as possible in the races I rode for Astana, and I am very happy that I can now sign my first professional contract with this team," Syritsa said.
This will be his first time with a WorldTour team, and he is very excited about the opportunity. “Debut at the WorldTour level as a part of such a famous team as Astana is an incredible possibility for me, and I am ready to provide my all to use it in the best way. I am ready for all the challenges to become better to compete against the best riders of the world,” Syritsa said.
In only five races, he scored podium positions and secured a victory, which impressed General Manager Alexandr Vinokurov. “A victory and four podiums in just several races is a significant result. Gleb Syritsa impressed with his results and his attitude during the stagiary, so I am happy that he will join Astana in next season as a rider of the main team,” concluded Vinokurov.
