Astana sign it's golden Russian sprinter Gleb Syritsa

Russian rider Gleb Syritsa will make his professional debut with the Astana Qazaqstan team. He will ride for the Kazakh WorldTour team until 2024. He was already working as a trainee since August and even rode a few races in jersey.

After the ban on Gazprom–RusVelo, he was in a pinch, but thankfully he found a spot in Astana Qazaqstan as a trainee and now he is being upgraded to full-time professional rider. "I did everything I could to show myself as well as possible in the races I rode for Astana, and I am very happy that I can now sign my first professional contract with this team," Syritsa said.

This will be his first time with a WorldTour team, and he is very excited about the opportunity. “Debut at the WorldTour level as a part of such a famous team as Astana is an incredible possibility for me, and I am ready to provide my all to use it in the best way. I am ready for all the challenges to become better to compete against the best riders of the world,” Syritsa said.

In only five races, he scored podium positions and secured a victory, which impressed General Manager Alexandr Vinokurov. “A victory and four podiums in just several races is a significant result. Gleb Syritsa impressed with his results and his attitude during the stagiary, so I am happy that he will join Astana in next season as a rider of the main team,” concluded Vinokurov.
