Arnaud Démare winning streak at Paris-Tours comes to an end on Sunday: "Next year I want lots of things but above all of victories!"

No historic hat-trick for Arnaud Démare on Paris-Tours. The French sprinter saw his winning streak at the race that takes place on dusty French countryside roads come to an end at two this Sunday.

The Arkéa-Samsic rider took 8th place in the sprint in a peloton that arrived nine seconds too late for the win behind the group of five that saw an unexpected champion in the person of Riley Sheehan.

"It's the end of my season, with a break which will be good! It was quite a difficult year morally. I was lucky to have this rebound in August to be able to express myself on these last months, which I managed to do. I am proud to have had these resources to bounce back. I am going to leave calmly to rest and get back on a good foundation. Next year I want lots of things but above all of victories!"
