Lotto Dstny are keen on keeping their new star aboard and they are set to make a big move soon. Arnaud De Lie is having a contract currently until 2024, but the team is set to break it and sign an improved and longer deal all the way into 2026.
The news come as little surprise taking into consideration the fast and sharp increase in performance and results from the Belgian, who is a homegrown talent. Lotto Dstny, a Belgian team, have full interest in having one of the nation's new leaders headline it's team in the coming years, with a big focus in the sprints and classics, as the 21-year old has shown quite a lot of versatility.
The report of Het Laatste Nieuws suggests the team was unsuccessful in an attempt to convince Oliver Naesen to join the team, but De Lie will most likely soon renew with the team. Now outside the World Tour, Lotto Dstny continues to have full access to World Tour races because of wildcard obtained via it's scored points last year.
De Lie was, despite being a neo-pro, the sixth best UCI points scorer in 2022 and was close to saving the team's presence at top level. The team count on him to support it's return to World Tour, something which for the time being is in good track. Although affected by a few injuries, De Lie has been testing himself against a stronger field this year but has results such as a second place at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, victories at the GP du Morbihan, Etoile de Bessèges and Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana.
