Antonio Nibali retires at the age of 31, one year after his more successful brother Vincenzo

Antonio Nibali's career is over. The 31-year-old Italian, best known as the brother of Giro, Tour and Vuelta winner Vincenzo Nibali. La Gazzetta dello Sport informed about the end of his career.

The youngest Nibali has been a professional cyclist since 2015. First two years at Nippo-Vini Fantini and then always at Vincenzo's side. This was successively with Bahrain Merida, Trek-Segafredo and Astana Qazaqstan. After Vincenzo retired from cycling last year, Antonio was able to spend another year at Astana, but he will not get a new contract there for 2024.

Antonio Nibali managed to book a professional victory in his career. He did this in 2018 in the seventh stage of the Tour of Austria. He also completed the Giro d'Italia three times and the Vuelta a España twice.
