Tadej Pogacar versus
Jonas Vingegaard is a hot topic in the
Tour de France. Many notable figures have voiced their prediction, and
Andre Greipel has backed the
Jumbo-Visma rider.
He believes the deciding factor is the team and not individual riders. “Pogacar is, of course, a super strong rider, but Vingegaard is also strong, and he has the strongest team around him,” Greipel told Cyclingweekly.
Other than strategical reasons, he wants to see a change in the podium ranking since the last two editions have been won by Pogacar. “I think it’s just good for cycling if someone else wins,” Greipel concluded. Vingegaard has lost the support of Primoz Roglic and Steven Kruijswijk today, which can be a deciding factor in the upcoming stages. Vingegaard is the overall leader with 2 minutes and 22 seconds advantage over his rival Pogacar.
