TotalEnergies' Alexys Brunel has denied the peloton at the 2025 Grote Prijs Jean - Pierre Monseré, to take solo victory in a dramatic finale this Sunday afternoon in France.
Heading into the final 30km, seven riders remained around a minute clear of the peloton. By the time the final 15km was reached though, only Victor Vercouillie (Team Flanders - Baloise), Alexys Brunel (Team TotalEnergies) and Michiel Coppens (BEAT Cycling Club) were left, although still over a minute clear of the peloton. With their hopes growing, Brunel was the first of the attackers to attack again, dropping his companions to move into the final 5km as a lone leader of the race. In a dramatic finale, there proved no catching Brunel either as the Frenchman held for a dramatic win.
