Intermarché - Wanty - Gobert Matériaux have had a phenomenal month of May with a standout performance at the Giro d'Italia, however outside of it the team kept bringing in the wins and the points, most recently with Alexander Kristoff who won the final stage of the Tour of Norway.

"The stage almost passed in front of my house today, I'm so happy to take the win here in Stavanger! I don't only know the final because the roads are familiar to me, but also because I already won a couple of times here," Kristoff said after crossing the line. He had looked in form during the six-day race, however only in his last attempt did he manage to succeed in grabbing an important stage win.

He has won the Clasica de Almeria and Scheldeprijs earlier this year, and this constitutes his third win of the season, on home roads.

"...Last year I didn't manage to take the victory and that's why my happiness is even greater today. Because of a strong tailwind it was important to be early in the front. It was a tough battle for the right wheel. Especially Mads Pedersen and I fought side by side in the final hectometers," he said.

"But in the end I was the fastest and I could conclude this race in the best way," he concluded. The Norwegian will now target the Tour de Suisse before heading for another Tour de France where he will hope to keep the Belgian team's success rolling.
