Roglic has attacked stage 8 which had a steep string of climbs towards the end, but in the high mountains has kept his powder dry, as did Geraint Thomas and João Almeida. The Slovenian sits third in the overall classification at the start today, only 2 seconds away from Geraint Thomas and 1:43 minutes on Bruno Armirail.
The day does feature around 4000 meters of climbing, however it will be up to the riders to decide whether attacks will take place or not, as so far in all three mountains stages
Jumbo-Visma have ridden very conservatively and not hit the wind.
