The 2024 Tour de l'Avenir has been completely turned on its head again! After a dramatic stage 5, Great Britain's Joseph Blackmore is back in the Maillot Jaune as Florian Samuel Kajamini took the stage win.
The penultimate stage of this year's edition of the Tour de l'Avenir had plenty of potential ways in which it would be decided. With three categorised climbs ripping up the race, as the riders entered the flat 20 or so kilometre finally, a lead group of eight led, including notable names such as Joseph Blackmore, Tijmen Graat and Leo Bisiaux, all of whom started the day in striking distance of Maillot Jaune Pablo Torres, who was around two minutes down.
With the lead group working well together, the gap back to Torres was only extending, seeing the Spaniard plummeting down the provisional GC standings as a result. In the fight for the stage win however, it was Italy's Florian Samuel Kajamini who powered to the victory.
