The
Olympic Games will take place in Paris in 2024 and the Olympic Road Race circuit will be taking place in the French capital. With two years left to the event, it seems as if the circuit has already been created and has been leaked.
Although the whole route hasn't been leaked, the final circuit has. It includes 22 kilometers in distance, said to be eight laps for the men whilst the women will be riding two laps. It is a punchy urban circuit with a finale at the Champs-Élysées as is traditional at the Tour de France.
The 22 kilometers are fully inside the city of Paris, an urban circuit which is not very hard but includes two punchy ascents which can make for several attacks and a thrilling finale. One of them being Montmartre - 1.1Km at 5.1% in cobblestones - and the other being Pré-Saint-Gervais - 900 meters at 5.1% - finishing with finishing with 16 and 9 kilometers respectively. That will then take the riders into the city center where they will ride up the Champs-Élysées into the finish line.
Rumours have it that the 2024 Tour will not be finishing in Paris so as to not collide with the Olympics, argument further backed up by the fact that the Parisian avenue is set to hos the finish of the Olympic race. It is very possible that it will have it's finale in Nice.
