After another day for the breakaway at the 2023 Giro d'Italia, Groupama - FDJ's Bruno Armirail has moved up 22 places and into the Maglia Rosa with INEOS Grenadiers content to give away the jersey and allow Geraint Thomas a night off from media commitments.
The Frenchman now leads the race by nearly two minutes with Thomas his nearest competitor at 1:41 down. The time gaps between Thomas, Primoz Roglic, Joao Almeida, Andreas Leknessund, Damiano Caruso and Lennard Kamna all remain the same with Eddie Dunbar who started the day in 7th drops down to 8th after surviving a late puncture.
