1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th - UAE dominate Tour of Austria's stage 1 as local favourite Grosschartner takes the win

UAE Team Emirates - XRG is the big team present at the Tour of Austria and is the team to beat. Unsurprisingly, they have won stage 1; but have done so by finishing with four of their riders in the Top5.
The first day of racing, ending in Ziel, featured a few hills towards the end where UAE found itself having to chase EF's Archie Ryan who went over the final climb solo. However, in the final kilometers, the duo of Felix Grosschartner and Rafal Majka chased him back and then used their numerical superiority to distance their rival and for the Austrian to take the stage victory isolated. Ryan held on to third place, whilst Filippo Baroncini and Isaac del Toro sprinted to fourth and fifth from the chasing group behind.

- It's not a big blow for Pogacar. Today, Pogacar relies on a close, increasingly Slovenian circle of experts. Jerman has known Pogačar since before his global fame, when they cycled together at the Ljubljana club Rog, so Elguezabal’s departure does not pose a threat for Pogi but rather marks the end of a very successful chapter. First, Remco must graduate from high school with excellent results to meet with the professor Pogacar in university and to be in same room with him.
