The rest is history. All Israel has achieved with its methods is to create more Hamas sympathisers and generations worth of suicide bombers so that no-one anywhere except the ultra-protected elite (who therefore delegate all violence directed at them onto ordinary citizens) will be safe.
Hamas is actually not so different than the IRA was and they enjoyed quite some support in certain factions of US society without it ever being a subject.
